Linus Särud stumbled across the world of web security by accident after finding a virus on his computer. His security career quickly took off and at 14, he hacked Google. Now, at 17, he is a web security columnist at IDG Sweden as well as a skilled security researcher and much appreciated member of the Detectify team. This is the story of how he became a white hat hacker and Detectify employee.
Comparing White Hat to Black Hat hacking is kind of like comparing the good guys to the bad guys. White Hat hackers look for vulnerabilities and report them, whereas Black Hat hackers have a more mischievous agenda. They are the guys you usually see in the movies hacking a bank and stealing money. White Hat hackers are the people working to make the world a safer place – like your favorite team of hackers at Detectify!
Detectify’s knowledge advisor Frans Rosén has worked with security research for many years, and is a top ranked participant of bug bounty programs, receiving the highest bounty payout ever on HackerOne. Last week, Frans was listed as #2 on Hackread’s list of 10 most famous bug bounty hunters of all time.
